Congratulations to Hampton Central Cricket Club’s Newest Hall of Famers!
Michael Devola, John Macnish, Phil Poulter, Geoff Tate & Tyrrell Vandergert.
As well as the Hall of Fame inductions, we were also celebrating 75 years since our founding in 1936 and the re-opening of the Clyde Clark Pavilion. It was a great night and very well attended.

Only one result on the weekend, with the 2nds falling agonizingly short of their first win for the year, losing by one run. All other grades ended in draws as rain made it impossible for a result. The only notable performance this past Saturday was Nin Devola scoring 63 in a losing cause. There were a couple of five wicket hauls in the previous week with A Ferguson 5/24 in the 2nds and M Devola 5/60 in the 4ths.
Hampton Central’s combined T20 campaign with Hampton United ended on a high note with their first win in the third and final match of the round robin competition on Tuesday night. Nigel Hunt was the star scoring 39 and taking a couple of wickets with the ball, although Darcy O’Brien can feel a little hard done by after Nige dropped two catches off him in consecutive balls!

For the third week in a row Big Farken Maxi was the highest scorer and extended their lead on top of the ladder. There is a long way to go in the season, but they’re already going to take some catching with the lead at 325 points. At the other end of the ladder Who’s Chris Perries and Ravello are in a tight battle for wooden spoon ‘honours’. Continue reading…
