4ths to Fly the Two Blues Flag in Grand Final This Weekend

Well done to the 4th XI on an exciting last ball win on Sunday. Some tired and sore kids and blokes and also exhausted spectators, but what a reward.

Bad luck to the 3rds who had a tough weekend and missed out to Omega. Still an excellent result to come up a grade to E and make finals. The future looks good with much development on young talent in this team. Also, great to see so many Club people along to our Under 14s on Friday who missed out. Only a few runs away and a few close calls against us.

The 4s are training Thursday evening (hopefully in the middle) and it would be great to have a few other players from other teams along, to assist with some bowling and general practice. We have 5kg of chicken wings to tuck into afterwards, so hopefully some extra incentive. Again comedown and support your Club mates at the pointy end of the season!!

The 4ths are playing Le Page Park CC, at Le Page Park Oval No. 1, Herald Street, Cheltenham, 1.30pm start, in a Saturday/ Sunday game. Le Page Park CC are kindly hosting so please support their canteen.

Also, unfortunately a couple of the Semi-Finals were marred by unsociable behaviour. A reminder from the SECA has been received by all Clubs regarding player and spectator behaviour. Please take on board as follows:

To all SECA clubs and Umpires: RULES & BY-LAWS REMINDERS #8 2016-17 PLEASE PASS ON ASAP TO CAPTAINS, SELECTORS AND OFFICIALS ***PLAYER AND SUPPORTER CONDUCT*** Unfortunately the semi-finals were marred by several incidents of improper behaviour by players and supporters towards umpires and opposition players. Clubs are reminded that they are responsible for the behaviour of their supporters under the SECA Code of Conduct. Heavy sanctions will be applied to offending clubs and registered players/officials. Your club’s reputation can easily be greatly diminished by the actions of a few irresponsible so-called “club members and supporters”!!! Ensure that your club plays by the rules and respects the spirit of the game!
