After a great start to the season for the 1XI, the lads are up against West Bentleigh in what should be a exciting game.

The 2XI are rescheduled to a two-day game next Saturday, as well as the 4XI unfortunately extending their long awaited return to next Saturday as the game has been forfeited.

The 3XI are away at Chelt. Park in hopes to kick-start the season with a Round 1 win!

Be great to see the players and supporters get back to the club for a beer and snag after the game.

QUINEY SHIELD – GRAND FINAL

Last week the First XI pulled off an unbelievable win defending 165 runs, bowling Kingston Heath out for 131. The game could be described as in the balance as the score at tea sat at 4/95. Immediately after tea, some great fielding from Charlie Amoore saw a run out, followed on by a quick fire of wickets from the tall and reliable Lachlan ‘Razor’ Geleit. Razor’s spell after tea was pivotal in the fall of the tail end, with final figures of 5/24 off 19 overs, with 7 maidens.

The support from family, friends, club members on the day was outstanding to see and can hopefully be followed up this upcoming game. On that note, get down to Le Page Park on the weekend to support the First XI as they look to win it all and take home the Quiney Shield.

QUINEY SHIELD – PRELIMINARY FINAL

The 1stXI fought hard last weekend to secure a spot in the Grand Final but sadly fell short, unable to defend 145 runs against Omega Cricket Club.

Fortunately, a top 2 position at the end of the home/away season gives the boys a second chance this weekend aganist Kingston Heath at Moorabbin West Reserve. The game will be played consecutively on Saturday/Sunday starting at 12:30 pm.

The team would appreciate any support from members of the club, as they fight to conclude with the ultimate finish, a HCCC premiership.

Lets all get down to cheer them on!

QUINEY SHIELD – 2nd SEMI FINAL

The 1XI have fought hard to secure a spot in the top 2 in Quiney Shield, with the first of the finals against Omega Cricket Club at Aspendale Gardens North Oval, off Kerr Crescent.

The two-day game will be played consecutively on Saturday/Sunday starting at 12:30pm.

The boys would love to see any support from members of the club.

Great to see all 4 teams playing this Saturday.

Would be great to see some past players make the effort to get down and support the 1’s at home.

Make sure to stick around for some post-game catch-up and the weekly spin of the wheel will also resume at the usual 7pm.

ROUND 5 & 6

Only 3 teams will be taking to the park this Saturday, with a special mention of our involvement in the inaugural SECA cancer awareness round.

All players will be wearing a yellow armband or yellow ribbon, and we will also be asking each player to make a gold coin donation to the Cancer Council.

All spectators are welcome to make a donation or stick around at the club as there will be a raffle post-game, where all funds will go to the Cancer Council. The weekly spin of the wheel will also resume at the usual 7pm.

This week an extra round of cricket will take place on Sunday for the 1st XI, also played at home.

Would be great to see present players/spectators make the effort to get down and support the boys.

Back to 2 teams this week, extending the long awaited return for the lower grades to next Saturday.

Would be great to have some support on the side-lines as both the games will be local.

MASTER BLASTER STARTS

Another reminder Hampton Centrals Master Blaster program starts tomorrow at 9 am, Simpson Reserve.

We look forward to seeing familiar faces as well as new arrivals to start their cricket journey!

ROUND 3

Exciting week as all 4 teams are back on the park and better yet our first game of TWO-DAY cricket since 2020, as well as the return of the red-ball in the 1st XI.

At this stage the weather’s looking to hold off on Saturday but if games are called off due to wet weather all are welcome back to the club from 3 pm onwards. This invitation is extended to all past members and spectators; lets all make an effort for our first official club night.

There will be a BBQ, some music, and the first spin of the weekly wheel at 7 pm. Spread the word and let’s get as many members as we can down to Simpson!
