A big reminder we will be running the Kid’s Christmas Party / Family Night this Saturday 21^st December 2024.

Held at the Club (W.L. Simpson Reserve, Fewster Road) from approximately 6 PM onwards, we will be having jumping castles and other entertainment for the kids. The Club will be providing a BBQ and salad dinner and the bar will be open with a variety of refreshments.

Always a relaxed atmosphere, this is a great event to gather all our Junior and Senior families together before the Xmas/ New Year Break.  Looking forward to seeing our many new Blasters, Juniors, Seniors again enjoying a wonderful Summer evening.
 
Please note Santa normally arrives around 7:30 PM and we kindly ask that all presents be deposited into Santa’s bag (with name tag) in the back room by 7:00 PM at the latest.
 
In addition, the Club will be running the annual spirit of Christmas raffle which will be drawn on the night. Any donations that can be provided, i.e., hampers, giveaways, etc., would be greatly appreciated.

Mother to Nick Macmillan and grandmother to Ryan and Annabelle, the passing of Lesley will be hard felt. A strong and loyal woman always wanting the best for her family.

The Club is also thankful for her longtime support, with afternoon teas prepared by Lesley for many seasons.

A service to celebrate the life of Lesley will be held on Tuesday, the 26h of November at W.D. Rose, 139 Marriage Road Brighton East at 2pm.

A fiery fast bowler, Donny lead the Centrals bowling attack for many years, rarely letting a batsman get onto the front foot. His intimidating frame and aggressive approach had many an opposition dreading their time at the wicket. 

Donny’s bowling statistics for the Club are legendary. In over 200 games for the Club he collected over 750 wickets, with game best figures of 8/16 in B Grade in 1975/76. With an aggregate of 61 wickets in the same season and 57 in A Grade in 1978/79, it is not surprising he collected 6 Bowling Average Awards amongst many other accolades.  

However, it wasn’t just Donny’s bowling that made him a critical part of the Club’s success in the 70’s. A larger than life personality and affectionately known as “Village”, Donny bought an energy and commitment to the Club. Donny was a “Big Man” with a “Big Heart” and is fondly remembered for his after match celebration antics, particularly his booming voice and articulate commentary on all elements of the game and personalities.

Donny’s devotion off the field was also significant including the role of Treasurer for five seasons, long time sponsor and commuting to cricket from Albury every weekend one season, when work required him remote.

Condolences to Heather, Chris, Julia and their extended families at this difficult time.

Held at the Club (Simpson Reserve, Fewster Road) from ~6:00 PM onwards, we will be having an outdoor event with COVID protocols and considerations in place. Unfortunately, no blow up amusements this year.

Please note Santa will be arriving between 7.00 to 7:30 PM and will be distributing lolly bags, in lieu of presents this year.

The advanced weather forecast (>30°C earlier in the day) looks well suited to a relaxed outdoor setting!!  Please bring your own outdoor chairs, rugs and nibbles for the evening.
