Seniors Playing Update

Hello Centrals Seniors,

The update to the COVID Restrictions has been promising and hopefully organised cricket formats will be allowed in the weeks to come (games in less than a month).  As per our Association’s advice, regardless of the current COVID-19 uncertainty, we should prepare to commence matches on the weekend of the 14th November 2020.

The Seniors should be good to start training and playing, at the next relaxation of COVID protocols, once other cricket teams and outdoor team activities are able to commence in metro Melbourne, subject to many COVID protocols.  There has been many meetings and updates around COVID protocols all Clubs will need to undertake and the Club will shortly explain and roll out, once confirmed by DHHS and the cricketing bodies.

Likely only two teams can train at any one time and must be at opposite ends of Simpson Reserve.  Strict controls like electronic attendance registers and hygiene measures will be enforced. We are hopeful to have a practice game for a couple of teams the week prior to the season start, where the many match day protocols will also be put into action and tested.

Please keep an eye on the Club website and Facebook sites for more updates.

Also, we generally have a good stock of Club merchandise at hand (local supplier) and would appreciate if you could indicate if you require garments (and size).  The Club is keen to purchase more “Two Blues” sublimated playing shirts (training tops) by the 1st November 2020.  If you need a new one (bigger size???) please notify Ian Wilkinson of your order immediately.
